Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how Bowery Consulting Labs (“BCL,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information through the Capline compliance portal (the “Portal”). We keep this simple on purpose: the Portal exists to give our clients access to their Local Law 126 parapet inspection reports, and we only handle the information needed to do that.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and a securely hashed password. Optionally, a profile photo if you choose to upload one.
- Building and portfolio information: the buildings associated with your account, their addresses and related inspection records and reports.
- Usage information: basic technical information needed to keep your session secure and the Portal running (for example, a login session cookie). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use it
We use this information solely to operate the Portal: to authenticate you, show you your buildings and reports, send you notifications when a new report is ready or when there is an account-related update, and provide support. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we share it
Access to your information is restricted to authorized BCL staff and to the service providers that help us run the Portal (for example, our hosting, email and file-storage providers), who may only use it to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety and rights of BCL, our clients or the public.
How we protect it
The Portal is access-controlled: content is shown only to signed-in, authorized users, passwords are stored in hashed form, and each client can see only their own buildings and reports. We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act and other applicable requirements. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously.
How long we keep it
We retain client and building information for the duration of the client relationship and for a reasonable period afterward to meet recordkeeping, legal and compliance obligations. You may ask us to review, correct or delete your personal information by contacting us at the address below, and we will respond consistent with our legal and contractual obligations.
